Our research continues to focus on metals in biological systems in relation to human health and the environment. Specifically, we are focused on molybdenum enzymes that play important roles in nitrogen, arsenic, and sulfur metabolism. We are excited about our science and fostering an international lab environment that provides a positive and rewarding learning experience.

Principle Investigator

Partha fosters a lab environment where you're free to grow and express yourself. He loves to generate ideas and provide his students opportunities to learn new skills.

Nitai Giri

Postdoctoral Scholar

Nitai is working to express several nitrate reductases and electron donating hemes. He performs a wide variety of reactions with these proteins to elucidate their electron and proton transfer mechanisms.

Mikayla Metzger

Mikayla Metzger

PhD Student

Mikayla's work is focused on site- directed mutagenesis surrounding the NapA Moco active site. She performs kinetic experiments on this protein to uncover details regarding protein and Moco structure.

Thaddaeus Broussard

PhD Student

Thaddaeus is working toward the synthesis of Moco and other inorganic ligand mimics. These Moco-like structures aid in uncovering interesting electronic and structural properties of protein ligands.
